Rates Relief For Local Businesses

Southwark Council has been given an extra £6.9m by Government to provide additional relief for local businesses who are facing big increases in their rates bill following the Government’s national business rate revaluation from 2017. This relief is available to eligible businesses for the next four years. The Council has now published options on how this relief can best be allocated to help those small and medium sized businesses which need it most, when they need it most.

If your business has been adversely effected Southwark Council want to hear your views and have set up an online consultation to give you an opportunity to have your say and influence their  thinking on its new policy and are keen to provide relief to businesses as soon as possible and are aiming to do so by early autumn this year.
