Blue Bermondsey Music Galas at The Blue Market
Bermondsey Music Galas will be held at The Blue Market as a monthly event from 4th May between 1pm – 4pm on the first Saturday of each month until 7th September 2019
Working in unison with Blue Bermondsey BID, United St Saviours Charity and Southwark Council to present a series of Blue Market Music Galas. Last autumn, Stephen from Unity Music Arts Trust, held conversation with Russell Dryden from The Blue Bermondsey BID about any ideas to bring some live music cultural sparkle to The Blue Market on Saturdays and support this long established local market in South Bermondsey .
The Blue, as it’s known locally, has been a shopping area that goes back around 230 years. The current market place was built by Southwark Council circa 1972.
“I believe this historic square today has great potential to raise its cultural profile, attract a wider demographic, increase footfall and new investment.”Stephen Pierre, UMAT
The Music Galas will feature a varied programme of acoustic acts , rock , blues, reggae ensembles and community choirs .
