COVID-19 business support: Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant
On 21 December 2021, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a package of financial support for businesses affected by the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
The package includes one-off grants of up to £6,000 for rate-paying businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors (the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant) and £102 million of funding made available through the Additional Restrictions Grant scheme.
Is your business eligible?
To be eligible to claim your business must:
- occupy the property on which it pays business rates
- have been open as usual and providing in-person services to customers from your business premises on 30 December 2021
- be in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors
Eligible businesses will receive the following one-off payment:

£15k or less | £2667 |
£15,001 – £50,999 | £4000 |
£51k and above | £6000 |
Regarding the COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF), also recently announced, London Borough of Southwark will be creating a policy and more details will be made available at a later date in their website.
